Instruments from Uganda

If you would like to own your own log xylophone, we have professional log xylophones from Uganda for sale, and also make some of our own.

For the serious percussion player, these instruments are seriously absorbing - even simple parts can be varied in almost limitless ways. Together with your friends, different parts can be interlocked to produce intricate melodo-rhythmic tapestries.

Our log xylophones are also ideal instruments for learning rhythms: several players can sit together round the same instrument, and everyone can produce a good sound right from word go!

We also supply recordings, teaching resources, and a variety of other instruments, including Ugandan drums, thumbpianos and panpipes. Given notice, we can place special orders for you for rare harps, lyres, fiddles and flutes.

African amadinda log xylophones, (also known as embairé), carved from lusambiya wood by skilled village craftsmen in Uganda. The 15 keys are tuned to a Ugandan five-note scale, spanning 3 octaves
